Jefferson County Hazardous Waste Day: What To Know

Jefferson County residents can drop off household items deemed hazardous and safely dispose of them at designated locations.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — Jefferson County residents can dispose of hazardous household items in a safe manner July 25, part of a nationwide effort to rid homes of potentially dangerous items no longer in use.

Items such as batteries, ammunition, paint and prescription drugs can be dropped off at one of three county locations:

  • 1205 15th Avenue North in Bessemer
  • 940 Main Street in Gardendale
  • 7952 Crestwood Boulevard in Irondale
