Marathon Through Mountain Brook Rescheduled Due To Weather
The BHM 26.2, which was going to cause road closures in Mountain Brook Sunday, has been rescheduled due to potential bad weather.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - Due to some potentially severe weather Sunday, the BHM 26.2 marathon originally scheduled for Sunday has been rescheduled for April 28. The race's route through Mountain Brook was supposed to cause road closures near Mountain Brook Village Sunday, but those closures will not occur until the rescheduled date.
"While we are disappointed to have to postpone the race, the safety of our runners, volunteers and attendees is of the utmost importance, and we are unwilling to risk their safety," said BHM26.2 Race Director Jeremy Walker. "The entire BHM26.2 team is grateful for the opportunity to reschedule the race, and we look forward to hosting a safe event on April 28. We appreciate the flexibility and understanding of everyone involved, as well as the gracious support extended to BHM 26.2, Magic Moments and Children's of Alabama."

A dynamic weather system is expected to bring the threat of severe storms to Alabama after midnight Saturday night into Sunday morning. The National Weather Service has all of Alabama at risk of severe storms on one or both of its outlooks covering Sunday.
The route will remain the same on the new date. The race is entering Mountain Brook on Shades Creek Parkway and then heading north on Cahaba Road. The northbound lane of Cahaba Road will be closed to traffic from Shades Creek Parkway to Culver Road during this event. Petticoat Lane will also be closed to traffic during the event.
