MBPD Offering Handgun Familiarization Course
The handgun course will take place October 27 at the Mountain Brook Police And Fire Training Center.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - Gun safety has been at the forefront of the news recently, and the Mountain Brook Police Department wants to make sure its citizens are familiar with handguns by offering a handgun familiarity course this month.
The course will be held October 27 at 8 a.m. at the Mountain Brook Police and Fire Training Center. It will consist of classroom training and live fire exercises. The course lasts approximately six hours, and participants must be 21 years of age or older.

Participants must provide the following:
- A serviceable handgun
- A method to secure the weapon
- 150-200 rounds of ammunition
- Eye and ear protection
