Mountain Brook Golf Team Headed To State Championship
The Spartans boys golf team won the sub-state tournament Monday after capturing the 7A Section 3 title last week.
MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - The Mountain Brook boys golf team is on a roll, as the Spartans won Monday's sub-state tournament at Timberline Golf Club in Calera, and will head to the state championship. Mountain Brook captured the 7A, Section 3 championship last week, advancing to the sub-state tournament today.
Ford Clegg shot a 66, which was the low round of the tournament, with Reynolds Lambert shooting a 67.
The Spartans defeated Spain Park in a playoff Tuesday to win the sectional championship. The Spartans and Jags tied with a 296 after the round and Mountain Brook won the playoff to take home top honors.

Lambert led the Spartans with a 71, with Gordon Sargent shooting a 74, Mac Scott a 75. William Wann shot a 76 and Clegg shot 78.
