MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL —Waste Management's leaf pickup services in Mountain Brook are behind schedule due to equipment failure that has reduced the number of leaf-collection vehicles in half, the Mountain Brook Fire Department said Monday.

According to the fire department, Waste Management normally runs four leaf trucks. However, just two trucks have been operational, with a third expected back in service on Tuesday.

As a result, Waste Management is over a week behind on collections for the third round of service, officials said.
