MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — Mountain Brook residents may notice in the next few weeks that their police officers have a little more facial hair. There is a reason for that, actually.

The Mountain Brook Police Department is participating in a No Shave November campaign. This year they will be supporting The Bell Center, located in Birmingham. The Bell Center is dedicated to maximizing the potential of children from birth to three years of age who are at risk for developmental delay.

While November is still more than a week away, "growing season" has already begun at the MBPD. "Our campaign has already begun," the department said via social media. "We extend our period a little longer than just November. Growing season will be from October 15 through December 31, 2019!"

Anyone interested in supporting the department's efforts in this event is asked to speak with any MBPD officer about it. "We hope to add a link in the near future to our page for direct contributions as well," the department said.
