Mountain Brook Police Chief Dispels Rumor Of Threat At MBHS
Mountain Brook Police Chief Ted Cook cleared the air Thursday regarding rumors that a high school student was arrested for making threats.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - With the chaos and heightened awareness and sensitivity of danger in the aftermath of the Parkland, Florida, school shooting last week, rumors of students with guns or making threats have surfaced in many communities across the country. Mountain Brook experiencd its own rumor Thursday, which Mountain Brook Police Chief Ted Cook was quick to dispel.
According to Cook, during a fire drill, a student said something to the effect of, "What if this is just someone getting us together to pop us like in Florida." This was overheard and devolved into a misunderstanding and a rumor that a student had been arrested.
