Mountain Brook's Colby Jones Signs With Xavier
Colby Jones has signed a letter of intent with Xavier University, now focusing on helping Mountain Brook defend their state title.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — As the Mountain Brook boys basketball team gears up to defend their state championship, they do so with a shooting guard that will be playing college basketball next year for Xavier University.
Colby Jones, who is considered by many recruiting services to be the top basketball player in the state, signed his letter of intent to Xavier Friday.
Jones had offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia and Stanford, among other schools. Jones cited his relationship with the Xavier coaching staff as his reason for choosing the Musketeers.

"It really came down to the coaches, I have the utmost trust in the coaches," Jones said. He also added that he is happy to get the college commitment out of the way as his senior season begins.
"I'm happy to get it out of the way so I can focus on school ball and my teammates," Jones said.

Jones, who transferred to Mountain Brook from Pinson Valley High School before his junior season, helped the Spartans to their third straight state championship last season.
