Police respond To Robbery In Mountain Brook

A robbery on Rele Street in front of Kinnucan's, in which a woman was approached by a black male and robbed at her car.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - The Mountain Brook Police Department responded to a robbery on Rele Street last week in which a woman was grabbed from behind by a black male and had her purse stolen.

According to a report by MBPD, the 44-year-old victim was approaching her car in front of Kinnucan’s when the suspect grabbed her. The victim began screaming and the suspect stole her purse and fled the area. The victim had some bruising on one of her wrists from the encounter.

Witnesses said the suspect got into a vehicle and fled southbound on Rele Street. Officers have taken statements from several witnesses and are attempting to gather video of the crime. Anyone who has any information about this is asked to call Sgt. Pollard at 802-3856.
