The United States Postal Service is considering moving the post office in Mountain Brook Village.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - The United States Postal Service is considering moving its office currently located on Culver Road in Mountain Brook.
According to a report by Alabama Media Group, Mountain Brook mayor Stewart Welch said the post office "could be moved to a yet-to-be-determined location as close as reasonably possible to the existing location."
A public hearing on the possible relocation will be held at 4:30 p.m. on May 10 at Mountain Brook City Hall, during which time the USPS will outline the need for relocation, take questions and solicit written input for a period of 30 days.

The lease for the Culver Road office is up at its current location due to the redevelopment of Lane Parke. The post office may relocate in phase two of Lane Parke, or possibly be consolidated with the Crestline branch on Montclair Road.
According to the USPS, the current location would remain open until a new location is up and running.
The USPS will make a final decision after the 30-day comment period.
