MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — After a prolonged period of time without it, a United States Post Office is returning to Mountain Brook Village. The U.S. Post Office is planning a location in Lane Parke after months of formal discussions.

A post office was one of the many features Mountain Brook residents expressed they missed about Mountain Brook Village after the Lane Parke development opened. The Post Office had been located in the Mountain Brook Shopping Center where the Western Supermarket was located for decades before the structure was torn down to build the Lane Parke development.

Lake Parke's developers, Evson Inc., has received written confirmation ofthe United States Postal Service will return to Mountain Brook Village in February 2020, according to the Birmingham Business Journal.

"We originally offered the Post Office a space in Phase I of the Lane Parke development, but it didn’t make sense for them at the time," said Evson Principal John Evans. "We’re thrilled to finally have an agreement to bring-back an important service that we have very much wanted to offer here in Mountain Brook Village for some time now."

The new Post Office will be located between Swoop and the Lane Parke Apartments.
