Roads To Close For Homewood Fire Chief's Funeral Procession
Some roads will close temporarily in Mountain Brook for the funeral procession of Homewood Fire Chief John Bresnan.

HOMEWOOD, AL — The untimely death of Homewood Fire Chief John Bresnan has hit the Homewood community hard, as Bresnan will be laid to rest Wednesday after a memorial service. The funeral procession is expected to close some streets temporarily in Mountain Brook.
Bresnan, 59, has been the fire chief since 1992. He was found unresponsive in his office Friday after missing a meeting that morning. He was taken to Brookwood Baptist Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Bresnan was a formerly a captain at the Center Point Fire District while also a firefighter in Homewood.

The funeral procession will cause traffic delays from 2:30 p.m. -3:30 p.m. on Montevallo Road from Mountain Brook Village to Euclid Avenue and beyond.
"The flags in Jefferson and Shelby counties may be flown at half-staff on the day of his interment on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 until sunset," said Gov. Kay Ivey in a statement Monday.
