Spartan DB Alex Washington Commits To Harvard

After deciding to 'give football a try' in 2018, Washington received numerous scholarship offers.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - Most college football players likely have been playing the sport since childhood, and that is what it takes to play the game at that high a level. However, for Mountain Brook's Alex Washington, it took just one year.

Washington has played basketball his entire athletic career, and opted in 2018 to play football for his senior season. He was made into a defensive back, made the starting team, and by mid-season, had turned the heads of college coaches across the country.

He received offers from Ole Miss, Yale, Dartmouth, Columbia, Air Force Academy, Furman, Samford, Middle Tennessee State, South Alabama, Troy, Wofford, and West Georgia, among others. In the end, Washington chose Harvard University to further his athletic and academic career.
