Spartans Advance In State Basketball Tournament
A 22-point win over James Clemens Thursday put Mountain Brook one more step closer to a third straight state title.

HANCEVILLE, AL - Mountain Brook inched closer to a third straight state basketball title Thursday with a 22-point win over James Clemens. The Spartans advanced to the second round in the AHSAA 7A tournament with the win where they will face rival Vestavia Hills in a rematch of the Area Championship Game.
Mountain Brook was paced by Trendon Watford and Lior Berman who each scored 13 points. Watford also grabbed 15 rebounds in the 62-40 victory.
The Spartans have not lost a game in nearly two months, and have won their last five games by an average margin of 21.3 points.
