Spartans Enter National High School Basketball Top 10

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - The Mountain Brook High School boys basketball team has for years now been listed among the top basketball teams in Alabama. The Spartans have won the last two state titles and four of the last six championships. This week, Mountain Brook entered the top 10 nationally in the most recent USA Today poll.

The Spartans crushed Spain Park Friday night 70-18, and with that huge win propelled themselves to a No. 10 ranking in this week's poll. Mountain Brook was ranked 18th in the previous poll.

Mountain Brook is 21-3 on the year and 4-0 in region play, and has been playing tournaments this season that have included some of the country's elite schools, which has helped bring national attention to the program.

The Spartans face Vestavia Hills today at Spartan Arena at 7:30 p.m.
