Spartans Fall In ASWA Rankings After Loss To Thompson

Mountain Brook remained in the Alabama Sports Writers Association top 10, but fell a few spots after their first loss of the season.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — A hard-fought game against top-ranked Thompson did not end as a victory for Mountain Brook last week, but the Spartans come into their Homecoming game against Hoover still ranked in the Alabama Sports Writers Association top 10.

Mountain Brook fell from no. 5 to no. 7 in this week's rankings after suffering their first loss of the season Friday.

The Spartans celebrate Homecoming this week, and will face 4th-ranked Hoover. Mountain Brook has not defeated Hoover since a 17-9 win in 2011 clinched the region title for the Spartans.

The Homecoming Parade will begin at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
