Spartans Football Team Has New Defensive Coordinator
Mountain Brook named a new defensive coordinator who has a championship resume.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - The Mountain Brook High School football team will begin the 2018 season with a new defensive coordinator. Robert Evans, who spent the last eight seasons at Hoover High School, will join the Spartans staff this fall.
Over the last five seasons, Evans has been the defensive coordinator for a Hoover team that won four state championships and compiled a 60-10 record.
According to a report by Village Living, Evans said he has known Mountain Brook coach Chris Yeager for several years and the two have competed against one another often, with Hoover and Mountain Brook playing in Class 7A, Region 3.

Before joining Hoover's coaching staff, Evans spent time at Oak Mountain, Spanish Fort and UAB after concluding his two-year stint in the Boston Red Sox organization. Evans is a native of Vestavia Hills and played football and baseball at Samford University.
