Spartans Move Up A Spot In 7A Top 10
Mountain Brook improved to 2-0 with a win over Center Point Thursday night, and pollsters took notice.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — The Mountain Brook Spartans football team improved to 2-0 last week with a 24-6 win over Center Point, and the Alabama Sports Writers Association has taken notice by moving the Spartans up a spot in the most recent top 10 poll.
Mountain Brook comes into its Friday night game against Tuscaloosa County ranked 6th in the ASWA 7A poll, up from 7th last week.
The Spartans were paced by quarterback Strother Gibbs, who had a 1-yard touchdown run and a 30-yard scoring strike to Paulson Wright. Mountain Brook defensive back Logan Brewer also had an interception return for a score, his second in as many games.

Freshman placekicker Reed Harradine added a 23-yard field goal.
The Spartans will begin regional play this week at home before two straight road games at Spain Park and Vestavia.
