Spartans Stay Put In ASWA Rankings After Region Win

The Alabama Sports Writers Association poll was released Wednesday, and there is a change at the top spot.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — Mountain Brook began regional play last week at Spartan Stadium and pulled out a 31-21 win over Tuscaloosa County. The win kept the Spartans ranked sixth in the most recent Alabama Sports Writers Association poll.

Mountain Brook again rode a strong defensive performance and the prowess of quarterback Strother Gibbs who scored two rushing touchdowns and threw for another.

The win puts Mountain Brook at 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in regional play.
