Spire Pipeline Replacement Project Scheduled In Cherokee Bend

A pipeline replacement project will take place in Cherokee Bend in October, which may cause some traffic issues.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — Spire will continue its pipeline replacement projects in Mountain Brook by starting replacement in Cherokee Bend in October.

Spire will begin work along Cross Creek Drive Oct. 5. Work will be performed between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. Prior to the work beginning, literature with the information about the upgrade project will be distributed to residents living in the immediate work area.

A second phase of this project is expected to start on October 19, at the intersection of Kennesaw Drive and Fair Oaks Drive and continue along Gaines Mill Road, Pine Mountain Road, Fredericksburg Drive, Corinth Drive, Chickamauga Road and Gaines Mill Circle. While this project requires crews to dig in the streets, and in some cases yards, Spire is focused on ensuring they perform work safely and efficiently.

By working between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and practicing control measures to ensure traffic flows as smoothly as possible, they plan to avoid contributing to rush-hour delays. The city encourages motorists to drive with caution through these work areas.

reduce inconvenience to you and the community," Spire said in a statement Tuesday. "When the project wraps up, we will completely restore affected streets, yards and landscaping. We will also send out a completion post card to ensure customer satisfaction."
