Three-Peat: Spartans Win Another Golf Championship
Mountain Brook captured its third consecutive boys golf championship, adding to its all-time total.

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - 2019 has been a year of "three-peats" for Mountain Brook High School. The Spartans won a third consecutive basketball title this year, the girls tennis team won its third consecutive state title a few weeks ago and with its victory Tuesday, the Mountain Brook boys golf team captured its third state title in a row.
Mountain Brook has more sports state championships than any school in Alabama with 122. The Spartans victory this week in golf added to that total.
The state championship tournament, held at the Robert Trent Jones Capitol Hill Golf Club in Prattville, featured a stellar performance by the Spartans, as Mountain Brook shot a 7-over 295 for a two-day total of 588.

Mountain Brook’s team total tied Class 3A state champion Houston Academy as the low team score of all classes.
Gordon Sargent and Reynolds Lambert paced the Spartans, each shooting -1, with William Wann finishing at +2, Evans Gross at +13 and Mac Scott at +16. Coe Murdock, competing individually, finished with a +7.
