Trendon Watford Named Co-MVP Of Lighthouse Classic
Alabama's Mr. Basketball continues to rack up the awards, this time being named MVP in the Spartans' recent tournament.
CORINTH, MS - The Mountain Brook Spartans basketball team traveled to Corinth, Mississippi, for a tournament that featured some of the region's best basketball teams, and left after notching two wins and having Trendon Watford named one of the tournament's Most Valuable Players.
Watford shared MVP honors with Jordan Rawls of Hamilton Heights. Watford averaged 20 points per game and 10.5 rebounds, while also averaging 5 assists per game.
Mountain Brook improved to 6-0 on the season after the Lighthouse Classic, winning games over Bearden (Tenn.) High School and Olive Branch (Miss.).

The tournament included five of the top 50 teams in the country (Mountain Brook included), and some of the most highly-touted recruits in the country as well.
