Trendon Watford Named National Player Of The Year Finalist

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL - As the Mountain Brook Spartans basketball team closes out area play and prepares for the postseason, the team looks to add another state championship to its resume. Individually, one Spartan hoops star adding to his resume is forward Trendon Watford, who this week was named as a finalist for the MaxPreps National Player of the Year Award. Watford was one of only 15 players in the entire country to make the list.

MaxPreps National Player of the Year will be announced in early April. Recent winners include Ben Simmons, Lonzo Ball and Michael Porter Jr.

The 6-8 junior Watford is a five-star recruit, and has been offered scholarships to Alabama, Indiana, Florida State, Mississippi State, Auburn, Georgetown and Kansas, among other schools. He has unofficially committed to Alabama.
