Allison Boyd Appointed Shelby County Probate Judge

Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Lyn Stuart has appointed Boyd to complete the term of Probate Judge Jim Fuhrmeister, who has retired.

SHELBY COUNTY, AL - Allison Boyd, who won the Republican primary for Shelby County Probate Judge in June, will begin her duties a few months early. Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Lyn Stuart has appointed Boyd to complete the term of Probate Judge Jim Fuhrmeister, who has retired. Boyd's elected term was scheduled to begin Jan. 15.

A report by Alabama Media Group said the administrative office of courts announced the appointment Wednesday. Boyd has worked as mental health programs coordinator and legal counsel in the Shelby County probate office since 2016. She has also served as a special probate judge over adoptions and commitments.
