CDBG-CV Public Hearing Notice In Shelby County

Shelby County Commission proposes to submit to Alabama Department of Economic & Community Affairs (ADECA) a Community Development Block Grant – Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) an application for funding of up to $500,000 on or before 11/01/2021, to address U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) CDBG Program’s national objective of β€œmeeting other
urgent community needs posing a serious and immediate threat to the health or welfare of the community where other financial resources are not available”; and to meet CDBG-CV Program performance goals of preventing, preparing for, and responding to the spread of infectious diseases such as COVID-19.

If awarded, funds will be used for the program eligible activity of providing a mobile testing and vaccination clinic to be used throughout Shelby County to meet the needs of the underserved, at-risk and rural residents of the county, but also to serve all residents. All residents of Shelby County are encouraged to comment on the proposed project by contacting Shelli Davis – Community Services Manager at sdavis@shelbyal.com or in writing: 200 W. College St. Rm 111 Columbiana, AL 35051, no later than 4 pm, October 29, 2021.
