City Mourns Loss Of Former Helena Deputy Police Chief

City officials and residents of Helena and neighboring communities express condolences over the passing of Tim Carter.

HELENA, AL - A law enforcement veteran of more than 25 years has passed away, according to reports. Former Helena Deputy Police Chief Tim Carter died over the weekend. No further information has been released.

"I am saddened and shocked to hear that retired Helena Deputy Police Chief, Tim Carter, passed away yesterday," said Helena mayor Mark Hall. "Tim was a great man and a great Police Officer. He worked over 25 years in law enforcement before retiring from Helena PD a few years ago. He continued to work part time with Shelby Co Sheriff’s Dept at the county court house. He was a great man. Please keep Tim’s wife, Angie, his children and the entire family in your prayers."

The Pelham Police Department posted a statement on social media saying, "We are saddened to hear this. Tim was a good friend of the Pelham PD. Join us in praying for his family and former co-workers."
