City Of Pelham Accepting Bids On Firefighter Protective Clothing

The City of Pelham will be accepting Sealed Bids for approximately 18 sets of Firefighter Protective Clothing.

Specifications may be obtained from the City Clerk/Treasurer’s office at Pelham City Hall, 401 Southgate Drive, Pelham, Alabama 35124.

Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “Firefighter Protective Clothing – Bid Opening October 13, 2020 at 11:00 A.M.”, and should be addressed to City of Pelham, P.O. Drawer 1419, Pelham, Alabama 35124, Attention Mr. Tom Seale, City Clerk/Treasurer.

Bids may be hand delivered to Pelham City Hall, 401 Southgate Drive, Pelham, Alabama 35124 prior to the scheduled bid opening, but no later than 10:00 a.m. on the day of the bid opening.

Bids will be opened and recorded by the City Clerk/Treasurer on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the courtroom of the Pelham Police & Court Building, 32 Philip Davis Street, Pelham, Alabama 35124. The City of Pelham has the right to refuse any and all bids which are deemed not be in the best interest of the city.

The attached specifications are being provided to potential bidders as guidelines, which describe the type of equipment, and/or service the City of Pelham Fire Department is seeking to purchase. The bidder must indicate compliance or list exceptions to each specific item for consideration. Specific questions regarding bid specifications should be addressed to Battalion Chief Bill Jones, Pelham Fire Department, telephone 205.329.5350. Failure to comply with this provision could be cause for rejection of the bid.

It will be assumed that all bids are based upon the specifications unless the bidder stipulates to the contrary on the proposal form; in which case, the bidder shall point out any and all deviations from the specifications. Bidders having items which do not meet the specifications may offer the same on an optional basis.

All bids shall be legible in a typed or a hand written format. Bids prepared in pencil will not be accepted. Bids shall be submitted on the attached “Bid Proposal Form.” An authorized agent of the company submitting a bid must sign the bid. Any bid submitted without being properly signed will be rejected.

Prices quoted shall be delivered prices. The City of Pelham is exempt from State and Federal taxes. The City will assume no transportation, handling or shipping charges unless the charge is included in the submitted bid.

The bidder must be an authorized dealer for the manufacturer of the Firefighter Protective Clothing they bid.

The City of Pelham reserves the right to alter or change specifications and to reject any or all bids received or waive any informality in the bidding.

Bid prices shall remain firm for 365 days.

The bidder shall assume full responsibility for warranty of all components within these specifications. A statement shall be attached with the proposal setting out the conditions of the warranty.

To be awarded the bid by the City, a bidder must comply with Alabama law, including, but not limited to, Ala. Code (1975) §§41-16-50 et seq. and 31-13-1 et seq., and provide documentation of enrollment in the E-Verify program pursuant to Ala. Code §31-13-9. If this law does not apply, bidder shall provide a waiver to that effect.
