Gardens of Pelham Celebrating National Assisted Living Week

Pelham assisted living facility Gardens of Pelham is celebrating National Assisted Living Week this week.

PELHAM, AL - On Tuesday, Pelham Mayor Gary Waters presented assisted living facility Gardens of Pelham with a proclamation recognizing senior adults and assisted living communities for their contributions to the community. This kicked off the organization's recognition and celebration of National Assisted Living Week this week.

Several events are planned for the week, including a bingo even on Thursday where residents are playing and visiting with senior adults from the Alabaster Senior Center and celebrating family night with a car show. “What we’re emphasizing is that you have more than one family,” said Garden of Pelham administrator Mary Neff to the Shelby County Reporter. “We’re recognizing staff as well as residents, because it takes a very special heart to care for the elderly.” Neff also said Gardens of Pelham is a smaller facility that currently manages 16 apartments for senior adults. In the future, Neff said she hopes to add 16 more in the near future.
