Man Arrested In Shelby County Shooting

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man after responding to a shooting death Sunday.

SHELBY COUNTY, AL - The Shelby County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man for a shooting death that occurred Saturday night.

Depities responded to a call at approximately 1 a.m. Sunday morning in Shelby regarding a person shot at a residence in the 900 block of Paradise Cove Lane. Deputies located one person who had been shot as well as the person who shot him.

William Pate Walker, 24 years of age from Shelby, was pronounced dead at the scene and the Shelby County Coroner’s Office responded to assist investigators as they pieced together the events that led to the shooting. Jacob Ryan Davenport, 25 years of age from Chelsea, was arrested and has been charged with Murder. He is currently in the Shelby County Jail and his bond has been set at $75,000.
