PELHAM, AL - Mayors in Shelby County cities and the Compact 2020 group have come together to promote the Family Friendly Vendor program, aimed at curbing the sale of products that encourage drug use or other unsafe practices.

Each community prevention team has created a pledge for local vendors in which the vendor agrees to not sell items to school-age students that "promote unsafe behavior." Collectively, each community prevention team has stated they want their local merchants to pledge to partner with the community to provide a safe and healthy environment for children and young families.

This is a community initiative that will bring the merchants who sell items related to drug use, to sign a pledge to be a Family Friendly Vendor.
