New York Man Charged With Attempted Murder In Pelham
A man from Brooklyn, NY, has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed a man in Pelham.

PELHAM, AL - The Pelham Police Department reported the arrest of a Brooklyn, NY, man who allegedly stabbed another man over the weekend on Stoneykirk Road in Pelham. According to a report from the PPD, the suspect, 29-year-old Bin Zheng, was arrested after he allegedly, “with intent to commit the crime of murder, attempted to commit said offense by stabbing (the victim) in the neck."
According to a release by the PPD, the investigation into the crime revealed that Zheng had been a houseguest of the victim, and had recently been asked to leave. The stabbing incident allegedly occurred when the owner of the home where Zheng had been staying was driving him to a bus station. The victim's injuries are not life-threatening, according to the report. If convicted, Zheng could face up to life in prison and owe a maximum of $60,000 in fines. Zheng is currently being held at the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $60,000.
