Pelham Hosting Open Exams For Potential Police Officers
Citizens wishing to join the Pelham Police Department have a chance to take an open entrance exam in September.
PELHAM, AL - Becoming a member of the Pelham Police Department may have become a little more accessible after the Pelham Human Resources Department announced it will host an open entrance examination for police officers with the Pelham PD. The exam will take place Thursday, September 27.
In addition to the written exam on September 27, a physical exam will be September 29. Applications may be submitted to the city here. The last day to submit applications is Tuesday, September 18 at 5 p.m.

Currently the Pelham Police Department employs a total of 89 police personnel, of which there are:
- 71 sworn police officers
- 13 police/fire/911 dispatchers
- 3 clerks
- 1 administrative assistant
- 1 community relations coordinator
Employees are distributed among the various bureaus and divisions throughout the Police Department's organizational structure.
