Pelham Man Arrested for Burglary, Multiple Thefts

A Pelham man was arrested over the weekend for a multiple offenses, including theft of property.

PELHAM, AL - The Pelham Police Department arrested a man they believe was involve in multiple thefts over the summer. Stantrell Tyroine Whitfield, 33, was arrested Friday and charged with one count of burglary in the third degree, two counts of theft of property in the third degree, one count of theft of property in the fourth degree and two counts of receiving stolen property in the fourth degree. Whitfield could face up to 10 years in prison and owe a maximum of $15,000 in fines.

According to documents obtained by the Pelham Reporter, Whitfield’s third-degree burglary charge was from an incident in July where he “knowingly entered or remained unlawfully in an unoccupied building,” with the intention to commit theft of property. During the same incident, Whitfield also allegedly stole a gaming system, a television and a watch - valued at $550 - from an address on Camden Ridge Trail in Pelham. The report also reveals that the two fourth-degree receiving stolen property charges stemmed from separate incidents in August where Whitfield allegedly received a stolen lawn mower, valued at $285, from an address on Pelham Parkway, and later received a mower, valued at $300, from the same address.

He was was held at the Shelby County Jail until Monday, Aug. 28, when he was released on bonds totaling $14,000.
