Pelham Schools Receive Good Grade From State

Pelham and Alabaster schools systems received favorable marks from the Alabama Department of Education.

MONTGOMERY, AL - The Alabama Department of Education released kits grades for all of the public school systems in the state last week, and while many of the Birmingham metro area's systems received high marks, some were not as well-regarded. Of Alabama’s 137 school systems, 76 percent received either an A, B, or C; 73 percent of the schools without a Grade 12 received either an A, B, or C; and 77 percent of schools with a Grade 12 received an A, B, or C. No school system received an F, but 95 schools without a Grade 12 and nine schools with a Grade 12 did receive F’s.

Birmingham City Schools, Bessemer Schools and Tarrant City Schools received a D from the state, while Mountain Brook, Homewood, Hoover, Vestavia Hills and Trussville received A's. Pelham received a high B rating, as did Alabaster City Schools, while Shelby County Schools received a C. Grades for specific school can be found here.
