Shelby County Sheriff's Office Makes Arrests In Burglary

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office arrested four suspects in a home burglary Monday night.

SHELBY COUNTY, AL - The Shelby County Sheriff's Office arrested four suspects after investigating a burglary of a home near Montevallo. At approximately 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to a burglary in progress call in the 7000 Block of County Road 22. The homeowner was able to give a description of the suspect vehicle and as deputies were approaching the scene they observed a vehicle matching the description leaving the area.

Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle and a traffic pursuit ensued. The vehicle made its way to Interstate 65 southbound with Sheriff’s Office deputies and Calera police in pursuit. As the pursuit neared the Chilton County line, the suspect vehicle intentionally struck a Calera patrol car which caused the suspect vehicle to lose control and wreck.

Four suspects were taken into custody by deputies from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and officers from Calera Police Department. There were no injuries to the public, officers or suspects as a result of the pursuit and motor vehicle crash.
