• Colbert Co. capital murder suspect Brian Martin returns to court ahead of trial (waff.com) — A Colbert County capital murder suspect returned to court Wednesday in the case involving the death of Sheffield Police Sgt. Nick Risner, with his trial set to begin August 24. Defense attorneys argued over what evidence and prior convictions jurors can hear, while a request for the defendant to personally question potential jurors remains undecided. No rulings were issued on the motions yet.
