12 Area Students Named Shelton State Dual Enrollment Ambassadors
Here's a look at the inaugural class of Dual Enrollment Student Ambassadors at Shelton State, made up of a dozen promising local scholars.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Shelton State Community College on Wednesday announced its inaugural class of Dual Enrollment Student Ambassadors, made up of a dozen promising local scholars.

The 12 high school students have completed one or more semesters of dual enrollment coursework at Shelton State and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Shelton State says its Dual Enrollment Student Ambassadors will serve as role models for new, current, and prospective students, while also supporting recruitment and enrollment efforts for the College by serving as liaisons between Shelton State and their current high school.
If the students selected for the one-year ambassador program choose to attend Shelton Stat Community College after graduating from high school, they will be eligible for a Shelton State Ambassador scholarship should they choose to attend the College upon high school graduation.

“We are overjoyed with our new Ambassadors and grateful to have such high-achieving and personable students serving in this role,” Shelton State Director of Dual Enrollment Beverly Foster said. “The Ambassadors have already begun work at their high schools by promoting the dual program and assisting students with questions.”
The following high school students were selected for the program:
- Kathryn “Elliot” Armstrong - Hillcrest High School
- Madelyn Barr - Northridge High School
- Addison Burgett - Tuscaloosa County High School
- Amaya Cairl - Greensboro High School
- Gerald Crummie - Paul W. Bryant High School
- Stanton “Ridge” Freeman - Northside High School
- Meredith Hudson - University Church of Christ Academy
- Viktoria Huerta - Hillcrest High School
- Tori Kemp - Sipsey Valley High School
- Ja’Narria Long - Holt High School
- Alyssa Mack - Holy Spirit Catholic School
- JaMarion Tinker - Greensboro High School
