UAW Local 2083 said in an online announcement that UAW Region 8 leaders also came to Tuscaloosa and joined local members in distributing leaflets to members at the worksite to provide an update on contract talks between the UAW and ZF Chassis Systems, commonly known as ZF Industries.

"These members of UAW Local 2083 supply front axels to Mercedes and have been fighting for a fair contract that ends tiers, raises wages and provides decent health care,” UAW said in its online statement following the announcement of the strike.
