TUSCALOOSA, AL — Absentee voting opened Tuesday for Tuscaloosa’s upcoming City Council District 3 special election, giving eligible voters an early opportunity to cast ballots ahead of the April 14 contest.

The special election ballot will feature commercial real estate developer Richard Henry facing off against former professional football player and CEO of Red Dipper Electric Doug Parrish.

As Patch previously reported, winner will fill out the remainder of former Councilor Norman Crow's unexpired term after he left City Hall and secured a seat in the Alabama House of Representatives.
In-person absentee voting opened at 8 a.m. Tuesday in the Tuscaloosa City Clerk’s Office at City Hall.

Absentee ballots may also be requested and returned by mail through the clerk’s office.
City officials said voters must complete an absentee ballot application before a ballot can be issued.
Applications are available from the City Clerk’s Office, can be mailed upon request, or printed from the City of Tuscaloosa’s elections website.
Completed absentee applications and ballots may be returned in person to the clerk’s office at Tuscaloosa City Hall or mailed to P.O. Box 2089, Attention: City Clerk, Tuscaloosa, AL 35403.
