Active Standoff Underway At Tuscaloosa Motel 6

Here's the latest on a standoff at a Tuscaloosa motel on McFarland Boulevard.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department confirms investigators are currently involved in a standoff at the Motel 6 at 4700 McFarland Boulevard E.

TPD says it initially received the 911 call at 7:23 a.m., going on to report that two men broke into a room in the motel early this morning.

A TPD spokesperson said a dog that belonged to the occupants was attacking one of the intruders when the other man shot the dog.

At least one suspect is now barricaded in a motel room and engaged in a standoff with officers, while another suspect is in custody.
