Adams Leaves Hillcrest, Takes Reins For Oxford Football Program
Sam Adams has left Hillcrest after seven seasons leading the Patriots' football team as he heads to take over a powerhouse Oxford program.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Hillcrest High School Patriots are now on the hunt for a new football coach after Sam Adams was introduced as the next head coach at Oxford High School on Monday.
During his seven seasons at the helm for Hillcrest, Adams led the Patriots to the playoffs six times, winning two region championships and finishing with a 56-28 record.

Adams will fill the role left vacant by Keith Etheredge, who resigned from Oxford to become the next head coach at 7A power Auburn after its coach, Adam Winegarden, was hired as the current coach for Tuscaloosa County High School.

Adams was joined by his wife Kimberly and son Whit in being introduced to the Yellow Jacket fans on Monday and expressed his excitement for the new job on social media.

The Hillcrest Patriots are coming off a 9-3 record last season in AHSAA Class 6A, with the job likely to be an attractive one to established and up-and-coming coaches alike.
