Alabama Baseball Earns No. 7 National Seed, Will Host NCAA Regional In Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The University of Alabama baseball team will open the 2026 NCAA Tournament in Tuscaloosa after earning the No. 7 national seed during Monday morning’s NCAA Baseball Tournament Selection Show.

The Crimson Tide will host Oklahoma State, USC Upstate and Alabama State at Sewell-Thomas Stadium for the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional, which begins Friday, May 29 and runs through Monday, June 1.

The regional will follow a double-elimination format, with one team advancing to the NCAA Super Regional round.
As one of the tournament’s top eight national seeds, Alabama would also host a Super Regional in Tuscaloosa if the Crimson Tide advances.

The NCAA Regional marks Alabama’s first time hosting postseason play since 2023 and the sixth time the program has hosted a regional since 1999.
Alabama enters the postseason making its 29th all-time NCAA Tournament appearance and its fourth consecutive trip to the tournament, matching the program’s longest postseason streak since qualifying for four straight tournaments from 2008-11.
The Crimson Tide owns a 74-57 all-time record in NCAA Tournament play, including a 60-41 mark in regional games.
Alabama is also 12-2 all-time when hosting NCAA Regional games.
Alabama has won eight regional championships in program history, claiming titles in 1950, 1983, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2006, 2010 and 2023.
The Crimson Tide will open tournament play against Alabama State.
Alabama holds a 15-0 all-time record against the Hornets, including two wins earlier this season.
Alabama has never faced USC Upstate and owns a 2-1 all-time record against Oklahoma State.
Fans interested in attending the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional can purchase all-session tickets for $105 beginning Tuesday, May 26, at 9 a.m.
Tickets include general admission and Right Field Terrace seating.
Single-session tickets will go on sale Thursday at 9 a.m. for $25, while student tickets will be available for $5.
Tickets can be purchased online through Roll Tide or in person at the Alabama Ticket Office inside Coleman Coliseum.
