Alabama Baseball's Colby Shelton Named SEC Freshman Of The Week

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama infielder Colby Shelton on Monday was named the Southeastern Conference's Freshman of the Week, marking his first conference honor of his Crimson Tide career.

The Lithia, Florida native led Alabama in nearly every offensive category during the four-game stretch, including hits, home runs, RBI, runs, total bases and slugging percentage.

During this stretch, Shelton posted three multi-RBI games and contributed three two-run efforts to go with three two-hit outings. He also homered in all three games of the Tide's sweep of UIC over the weekend.

Alabama baseball (12-0) will be back in action on Tuesday at Samford, with first pitch set for 6 p.m.
