Alabama Basketball To Face Miami In 2026 SEC/ACC Challenge

Alabama will travel to face the Miami Hurricanes in the 2026 SEC/ACC Challenge in December

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama men's basketball team announced Friday it will travel to face the Miami Hurricanes in the 2026 SEC/ACC Challenge on Dec. 2 at the Watsco Center.

This will mark the fifth all-time meeting between the programs and the second matchup in the last five seasons.

Alabama leads the series 3-1 and defeated Miami 96-64 in their most recent meeting on Nov. 28, 2021, during the championship game of the ESPN Events Invitational in Orlando.

Alabama coach Nate Oats owns a 6-5 record against ACC opponents during his tenure with the Crimson Tide, with Alabama winning its last two SEC/ACC Challenge contests.

In those matchups, the Crimson Tide defeated the Clemson Tigers in 2025 and the North Carolina Tar Heels in 2024.

Miami's lone home victory over Alabama came during the 2015 NIT, when the Hurricanes defeated the Crimson Tide 73-66 in Coral Gables.

Miami enters the 2026-27 season coming off a 26-9 campaign and a 13-5 mark in ACC play under first-year head coach Jai Lucas.
