Alabama Guard Nimari Burnett Entering Transfer Portal: Report

Alabama men's basketball sophomore guard Nimari Burnett has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama men's basketball sophomore guard Nimari Burnett has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, which was first reported by Nick Kelly of the Tuscaloosa News on Tuesday.

Burnett appeared in 25 games for the Crimson Tide during the 2022-23 season, while starting in eight. The Chicago native average 5.5 points a game during his long season in Tuscaloosa, including an 18-point performance against Jacksonville State on Nov. 18, 2022.

Burnett came to Tuscaloosa from Texas Tech by way of the NCAA Transfer Portal, where he appeared in 12 games and averaged 5.3 points as a freshman.

A five-star product in high school and a McDonald's All-American, ESPN ranked Burnett as the No. 22 overall player and the No. 4 center guard in the country his senior year at Prolific Prep.
