Alabama Improves To 7-1 With Upset Win Over No. 3 Gonzaga

The University of Alabama men's basketball team upset No. 3 Gonzaga Saturday night in the Battle in Seattle.

SEATTLE — If you're an Alabama athletics fan today and aren't excited, you should probably check your pulse.

The No. 16 Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team improved to 7-1 Saturday night with a monumental neutral site win over No. 3 Gonzaga (7-2) 91-82 at Climate Pledge Arena, with the game tipping off just as the Alabama football team wrapped up its upset win over No. 1 Georgia in the SEC Championship.

Junior Jaden Shackelford led the Crimson Tide in scoring on the night, notching 20 points in the first half on his way to going 10-for-16 from the field for 28 points on the night.

Highly-touted freshman JD Davison added a career-high 20 points in the winning effort, along with five rebounds.

Shackelford also led the Crimson Tide in rebounds for the evening, grabbing nine boards on the defensive end of the court.

The Crimson Tide's next opponent will be a home contest against Houston in Coleman Coliseum on Dec. 11.
