Alabama Men's Golf Wins Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The No. 11 Alabama men's golf team captured its first tournament championship of the 2026-27 season Tuesday to win the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational.

Alabama finished the two-day tournament at even-par 840 after rounds of 274, 282 and 284, beating No. 1 Auburn by five strokes for the team title.

The 16-team field featured 13 teams ranked in the nation's top 25 and seven ranked in the top 10, including No. 2 Oklahoma State and No. 3 Arizona State.

Four of Alabama's five golfers finished among the top 20 individually, with Nick Gross and William Jennings leading the way in a tie for third.

Gross and Jennings each finished at 2-under 208. Gross carded rounds of 69, 69 and 70, while Jennings shot 66, 71 and 71.

Gross led the tournament in par-5 scoring at 6-under and posted both the best 54-hole score and highest individual finish of his Alabama career.

Jennings led the field in par-4 scoring at 4-under and recorded his ninth top-five finish in 16 career tournaments.

Freshman Bailey Sutter added his first collegiate top-10 finish, tying for ninth at 1-over 211 after rounds of 69, 69 and 73. The result came in just his third college tournament.

Miles Eubanks climbed 11 spots during Tuesday's final round to tie for 16th at 3-over 213. He closed with a 70 after rounds of 70 and 73 Monday, giving him his second top-25 finish in three tournaments this season.

Luke Powell rounded out Alabama's lineup, tying for 57th at 12-over 222.

"This was a team win," Alabama head coach Jay Seawell said. "I'm proud of everybody on the team."

The championship marked Seawell's 63rd career tournament victory at Alabama.
