Alabama ONE also said the transaction was pursued in a bid to boost the range of services for the members of BMFCU.
BMFCU CEO Linda Williamson then emphasized the alignment of values and goals between the two institutions as representing a key factor in the decision.
"We conducted an extensive search within our area looking for an opportunity like this," said Williamson. "Alabama ONE not only shares our values, but they exceeded our hopes for a credit union that we can merge with to continue our traditions of excellent service, expertise, and fostering an environment our members and employees want to be a part of."
