Alabama Soccer Grabs Program's First SEC Regular Season Title With Win Over Florida
No. 3 Alabama soccer made history Sunday night in front of a record crowd as the Tide clinched its first-ever SEC regular season title.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — No. 3 Alabama soccer made the most of Senior Night in Tuscaloosa, securing a 2-0 win over the visiting Florida Gators that also gave the Crimson Tide its first SEC Regular Season Championship in program history.
What's more, the Tide saw a record single-game attendance for the program, with 1,882 fans on hand to see the Crimson Tide's historic win.
The first goal of the night came from Alabama midfielder Kat Rogers, who grabbed her third career goal at the 18:21 mark during the first period. This would be the only score by either team in the first half.

Riley Tanner — a senior from Caledonia, Michigan — notched the Tide's second goal of the evening to put Alabama up 2-0 at the 41:29 mark of the second half.

Reigning SEC Defensive Player of the Week and Tide goalkeeper McKinley Crone played an inspired game on senior night as she secured her ninth shutout of the year.
The Tide (16-1-1, 8-0-0 SEC) will have the chance to close out its regular season undefeated in conference play on Thursday as the Tide travels to Auburn for a 7:30 p.m. matchup.
After making history on Sunday night in Tuscaloosa, the Tide will look to win its first SEC Tournament title, with play set to begin Monday, Oct. 31 in Pensacola, Florida.
Florida was the last school to win both the SEC regular season crown and the conference tournament in the same year, accomplishing the feat in 2015.
As it stands with the season winding down, Alabama is likely to secure a No. 1 seed and first round bye for the SEC Tournament.
