Alabama's Fouts, Shipman Named Preseason All-SEC Selections

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama softball standouts Montana Fouts and Ally Shipman have been named to the 2023 Preseason All-SEC Softball Team.

Fouts, the Tide's ace on the mound, is a three-time first team All-SEC selection, leading the league in strikeouts each of the past two seasons.

Entering her final season at the Capstone, the native of Grayson, Kentucky previously earned SEC Pitcher of the Year in 2021.

Shipman — a graduate student who originally transferred from Tennessee — is a native of Valencia, California and was a second team All-SEC honoree in 2022 for the Crimson Tide, leading the team in RBIs in conference play.

The 2023 softball season will officially kick off on Feb. 10 when the Tide hosts Lehigh in Tuscaloosa.
